Since having my youngest child, I have grown to love some items. Some of them I used with the twins and others were a first time buy.
It’s easy to buy into the baby product hype and just purchase everything because you think you need it, but don’t be quick to spend all your money.
Mum tip, especially for items you are not sure about: wait until your baby is born, see how you manage without it, then decide if you will make a purchase.
I’m all for things that make life easier, so I’ve listed a few things that I use almost everday:
(Click on the product name to be redirected to a page you can purchase from)
Gro egg – It’s a room thermometer that changes colour to indicate temperature. Red if it’s too hot, blue if it’s too cold, and amber if it’s just right. This was a recommendation from my sister-in-law and I loved it for the twins as they were winter babies, so the temperature of the room was not always obvious to me.
Omani Electric Pump – this pump has no cords or wires, and can be recharged with the USB battery. It has 6 suction levels and you can add the suction strength gradually and find what is most comfortable for you. The lovely team at Omani were kind enough to send me a pump and I’ve used it everyday since.
Muslin cloths – arguably the most useful baby item. They are basic but so handy. They serve many purposes and you can never have too many of these. They can be used for: cleaning up spillages, swaddling your baby, a burp cloth when placed on your shoulder, a nursing cover when tucked in your bra and so much more!
Tommee Tippee Travel Warmer – for on the go bottle and food jar warming. Sadly this wasn’t around when the twins were born but I now use it everytime I’m out for a long period of time. I use it by storing boiling water in the flask, and then pouring some into frosted container to warm a bottle. It’s brilliant.
Angelcare Baby Bath – how do people bathe their babies without this?! This bath is designed in such a clever way and is perfect for babies who are yet to sit up. It has an anti-slip base and is comfortable for your baby to lie in so you can keep your hands free to wash them and grab for toiletries.
If you’ve also come across any gems, I’d love for you to share in the comments!
As always, thank you for reading.
